I don’t know about acting ‘careers’ that are science related, I mean, Bill Nye the Science Guy is already taken, and he was a science teacher first, then he got into TV. But off camera there are countless careers for a math/science background. F/X Pyro, need a major background in chemistry and physics. Lighting needs to be able to calculate power requirements as well as figure out what lights are going to look good for what conditions. The same with sound. How will sound effects actually be heard when they are played, where do speakers need to be placed. How to avoid feedback in the system. Balancing all the instruments so the band sounds good. Riggers need to know Physics and the laws of static vs. dynamic loads. Point loads and stress factors on hanging points. Carpenters need to be able to calculate material requirements and need to know the structural properties of different building materials and different construction techniques. So, it’s not acting, but careers in theatre or movies require a lot of math and science.
