Cheaper Audition – 1458031
10-29-14 – Cleveland, OH>Pittsburgh, PA – “Cheaper” by the Dozen

Please have a short monologue prepared. No singing is needed for this production.

Synopsis:
Based on a true story, Cheaper by the Dozen tells the story of the Gilbreth family. Their inventor father, who is well-known for bringing better efficiency to factories, keeps his family of twelve children running just as efficiently. This play is told from the point of view of two of his children reflecting on the last few months before his death. He was preparing the family for his imminent departure, but most of his children, like most of the young children in the audience, were unaware of the fact. It is an extremely funny, heart-warming, and family-friendly tale, and the tragic catharsis of the father’s death is beautiful to the adults in the audience, who can understand the euphemisms.

The show runs January 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24,2015. Rehearsals will take place Monday-Thursdays starting November 10, 2014. — Project Type: Live Event

Annie Jr – Audition Call – 1458012
10-29-14 – Pittsburgh, PA>Washington, DC – Annie Jr Auditions

We are seeking actors and actresses ages 6-17 to fill roles in our upcoming production of Annie Jr. You must schedule an appointment prior to auditioning.

Audition Specifics
• We ask that every student prepare a short song or part of a song (1-1.5 minutes) to sing for our directors at auditions. Your song should be from either a musical or from a Disney movie. Please, no pop songs. Memorize your song and bring a musical accompaniment track for it on either a cd or a personal music player (like an iPod).
• Those students auditioning for specific lead roles, such as Annie, the orphans, Daddy Warbucks, Ms. Hannigan, etc., will be asked to sing portions of those specific songs to ensure your range meets the qualifications.
• Auditions are divided up into one hour slots. You will be assigned a time slot with other students who will complete the audition process with you. Within that hour, you will be working alongside a small group of other students.
• Students will then be called up on stage one at a time to sing. The directors will ask each student a couple of questions and then they will ask to hear the song. After everybody has a chance to sing, they will be asked to look over and perform rough readings of scenes from the show. When it’s your turn to read, take your time and try to infuse as much personality into your reading as you can.
• Finally, your group will be taught a short dance routine. While the routine may seem overwhelming at first, you will probably pick it up fairly quickly. What makes it hard is getting the steps in your head so that you can remember them when you have to perform it without following anybody else. Ultimately, every member of the chorus will get to dance in the show. What we’re looking for here is whether or not you have the coordination, confidence, and energy to warrant a featured dance role.
• Overall, relax, don’t stress too much, and try to enjoy yourself. There is no such thing as a perfect audition, no matter how good you get. Relax, do the best you can, and leave the rest up to the directors.
• Casting will be announced within a week. You will receive a phone call letting you know which role we would like you to play. You have the opportunity to accept or decline that role. Once we have filled all available roles, a full cast list will be posted on our website and Facebook page. Other important information will be distributed at that time as well.

Lenny declares they should call the police, but Ken disagrees. Before they can agree on anything, another car shows up.
