Never The Sinner Audition – 1481611
03-27-15 – Las Vegas, NV>Phoenix, AZ – Chicago, May 21, 1924. Nathan Leopold Jr. and Robert Loeb killed 14 year old Bobby Franks and were quickly apprehended when Leopold’s glasses were found near the corpse. Clarence Darrow defended them, pleading eloquently against capital punishment. Why would wealthy young men murder an innocent boy? What demons lurked behind Leob’s flashing good looks? Behind Leopold’s saturnine intellect? This exquisite Off Broadway hit explores the complex relationship between these two who longed to create a private world of fevered intellect and romantic passion. The author suggests that, given twists of fate and character, Leopold or Loeb could be anyone who has loved too much, had a broken heart, wanted to prove everlasting devotion, or looked at a loved one and thought “I’d die for you … I’d kill for you.” This is a love story set to themes of crime and punishment, the press, the times, humanism, Nietzsche’s philosophy and the end of the jazz age.
The cast consists of seven men of which 3 are between teens – mid 20’s. Production is May 12 – 22. — Project Type: Live Event

Wind Well Casting Call – 1478897
03-09-15 – El Paso, TX>Phoenix, AZ – 30 min short film, adapted from the Noh drama, Kinuta, Wind Well follows the final days of a young woman as she patiently waits for her husband to return. This film aesthetically aims to bridge the gap between East and West, like a cherry blossom on a cactus.
Created from a classic work of Japanese literature, the screenplay is infused with contemporary language and social trappings familiar to the western audience. Importantly, it retains the Zen influenced philosophic underpinnings, the narrative intent, the formal dance movement and musically percussive pacing of traditional noh. Although current Western cultural and social circumstances are far removed from those of medieval Japan, this project is conceived to interpretively communicate questions that remain salient as they emanate from the temporality of our ongoing existential condition. The translated classical noh script and adapted screenplay, the performances, and the video production will be unique cultural and media translations, and will provide opportunities for the Western audience to engage intercultural perspectives. — Project Type: Feature Film
