Here’s what we need from potentially you:

Rhythm guitarist
You need to be able to hold it down and provide a solid groove. Nothing flashy is necessary – we have a KILLER lead guitarist, so rhythm playing is going to be your domain (okay, okay – you can solo occasionally – with three or four hours of music, there’s certainly space for you to get your kicks, but you will not be the main gunslinger in this outfit). You need to be able to find the best rhythm stroke and work it, laying it on thick when the groove demands or holding back and providing texture when it doesn’t. Taste and rhythm are paramount here. We’re talking about soul/funk/blues guitar with a massive dose of rock on top, so you need to able to do some serious chord work and keep it funky.

Here is who we are:
A talented, laid-back, professional group of guys who have formed a pretty strong bond in this group together. We are pretty gig-tested, and next to a badass lead guitarist, we have a solid and fluid rhythm section that keeps the party going. We play venues from Lexington to Danville and Harrodsburg, and we like to do this once a week or more. — Project Type: 1

You also need to be able to belt these tunes out for the better part of three-to-four hours without fatigue. To help with that, you’ll be switching off with the bassist and lead guitarist on tunes and sharing the main spotlight, but a great majority of the vocal weight will fall on your shoulders.

I have received too many replies from folks whose enthusiasm far exceeds their talent. I guess not much has changed
since my gigging days
Additionally, if you have issues with the discipline and/or patience it may take in the recording process, or with
commitment in general, don’t bother replying. I have had numerous offers from musicians to play, then there is no
“follow through” on their part. I ask them if they have been creating or practicing their riffs, or are ready to send or
play me what has been discussed, or if they are ready for recording…and they either avoid me or offer lame excuses.
Polishing your part for six weeks is fine (especially if I’ve explained it may be a while before I need you)…but not
working is not.
Mine is not the attitude of a jerk….it is the attitude of one serious musician dealing with someone who isn’t. — Project Type: 1
