11-29-13 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Casting Call for “As You Like It”
Roles are available for males and females from 15 to 50 years old. Auditioners should prepare a one minute monologue.
In As You Like It Duke Frederick (the younger duke) has usurped his older brother, Duke Senior, and banished him to the Forest of Arden. Frederick then banishes Duke Senior’s beautiful daughter Rosalind. Celia, Frederick’s daughter and best friend of Rosalind, flees her evil father with Rosalind and they travel (along with Touchstone, the clown) to the Forest of Arden. Before leaving, though, Rosalind falls in love with Orlando and he with her after he amazingly defeats Charles in a wrestling match. Orlando, the younger son of Sir Rowland, had rebelled at being kept a virtual prisoner by his cruel older brother, Oliver. Also banished, Orlando then roams the forest hanging poetry and carving Rosalind’s name in tree trunks. Meanwhile, Rosalind (who is disguised as a man named Ganymede) gives Orlando tips on how to capture the object of his affections. By the play’s end Ganymede, once again Rosalind, marries her Orlando. Two other sets of lovers are also wed, including Celia and Oliver. As Oliver becomes a gentler, kinder young man so the Duke conveniently changes his ways and turns to religion and so that the exiled Duke, father of Rosalind, can regain his crown. — Project Type: Live Event
Warren Auditions- Barefoot In The Park – 1399352
11-28-13 – Buffalo, NY>Pittsburgh, PA – Tryouts for Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park
In Neil Simon’s timeless “laugh out loud” comedy, Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds who are realizing the honeymoon is over. He’s a serious young lawyer and she’s a free-spirited bride. Their tiny “top-of-the-building-with-no-elevator” Manhattan apartment is perfect to keep a meddlesome mother-in-law away. But with bad plumbing, a closet for a bedroom, a leak in the skylight, and an unexpected rooftop neighbor…well, anything that can go wrong invariably does.
Barefoot in the Park proves the theory that opposites really do attract in one of Broadway’s most enduring and successful romantic comedies!

Before they leave, Rosalind falls in love with one of the sons of Rowland De Boys—Orlando, who is ruled and hated by his elder brother, Oliver. Orlando foils Oliver’s plan to have him killed in a match against the Duke’s chief wrestler, Charles, by defeating the champion. — Project Type: Live Event

Shrek The Musical
About the play:
Based on the William Steig novel and the subsequent Oscar-winning DreamWorks film, Shrek packs a comic, tender-hearted punch as big as an Ogre, as loud as a Donkey, and as charming as all our favorite fairy-tale characters brought to life at once! The recipient of 8 Tony nominations, this ingeniously lovable musical will make a Believer out of audience members, reminding them that beauty goes far beyond skin deep and that, sometimes, you just gotta let your “Freak Flag Fly.”

Auditions Shakespeare titus Andronicus – 1396438
11-13-13 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Come audition for the Spring 2014 Schwartz Center Main Stage production of Shakespeare’s infamous revenge tragedy “Titus Andronicus,” directed by Spencer Whale ‘14 (bare: A Pop Opera, Macbeth, The Tempest). Shakespeare’s bloodiest play tells the fate of Titus, devoted general of a crumbling, lecherous Rome, whose fall from greatness is stretched to excruciating lengths as his entire line is subjected to unspeakable acts of deception and torture at the hands of Tamora, Queen of the Goths, and her black-hearted lover, Aaron the Moor. This exciting, modern take on the play will pull from the cultural zeitgeist which has brought us the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Lady Gaga to explore our collective fascination with horrific violence and its potential consequences.
General Auditions will be held on March 7th in the Schwartz Center at 7:00. You can sign up for a specific auditions slot in the Green Room, but walk-ins are welcome, as well. Please come prepared with a one-minute Shakespearean monologue. Auditions for Jesse Turk’s production of “A Lie of the Mind” by Sam Shepard will be held at the same time, and those who wish to audition for both productions may prepare a contemporary monologue, as well. — Project Type: Live Event
