Casting Call For Jesus Christ Superstar – 1471879
01-20-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Jesus Christ Superstar presents the story of Jesus and his disciples, or followers, from the time they enter into Jerusalem until Jesus’ betrayal by Judas Iscariot and eventual crucifixion at the hands of the Romans.

The opera opens on the eve of the journey to Jerusalem. Rome has taken over the city, making it dangerous for Jewish leaders to claim too much power. Most of the disciples, like Simon Zealotes, are devoted to Jesus and excited about the next day’s events, but one, Judas, worries that Jesus has taken his religious crusade too far. He fears that the Roman army will destroy them all. He is also concerned that Jesus, supposedly a man of religion, is spending too much time with Mary Magdalene, a former prostitute but now one of Jesus’ closest allies. Jesus tells Judas that unless he himself is without sin, he must not criticize others. Mary Magdalene, in turn, has her own troubles; she is falling in love with Jesus but isn’t sure how to act.

Please be prepared to sing 32 bars in pop/rock style. If you are interested in dancing please bring dance shoes and be ready to learn a short combination.

The roles of Jesus, Judas, and Pilate have been cast and some of the other roles may be double cast. — Project Type: Live Event

Auditions For Craig Wrights Grace – 1471638
01-19-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Grace is a tragicomedy that explores human assumptions about how God, goodness, faith and causality operate in the cosmic machinery. Steve and Sara have relocated to Sunrise, Florida to pursue an unbelievably wonderful business deal, but as the deal slowly unravels and Steve finds himself afflicted with an itch that just won’t stop, Sara finds herself increasingly drawn to their next-door neighbor, Sam, a badly-scarred victim of a recent car accident who wants nothing to do with her or her Bible-quoting husband. In the end, with a little help from an old German exterminator who’s still angry about the Allied bombing of Hamburg in World War II, all three characters are confronted by a world that’s both better and worse than any religion can justify.

Auditions will also consist of reading from the script.

Now Casting For Summer Season – 1471231
01-15-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – We are actively seeking actors of all racial backgrounds for all roles in our 2015 season.

- God of Carnage
- Spring Awakening
- Talley’s Folly
- The Hound of the Baskervilles is a comic retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes tale as performed by a traveling troupe of actors determined to portray all of the characters in the sprawling epic. While the actors deliver a remarkably complete rendition of the story, they battle through he complications that come with any acting company, particularly one this small, competitive, joyous and determined. The play is a love letter to the theatre and to the tradition of theatrical companies. The production demands three actors with impeccable comic timing and who are physically agile and inventive. The actors play both genders, many ages and must switch costumes and accents with lightning quick precision. No matter what character they are playing, of course, at heart they are informed by the relationship between the actors playing them. The true story of the play is the tale of these three becoming a family of actors by accomplishing the impossible onstage. Actors with clown and dance training are preferred. Actors with experience at slight of hand or magic are also of extreme interest. All ethnicities, sizes and types welcome! — Project Type: Live Event

Please be prepared to sing 32 bars in pop/rock style. If you are interested in dancing please bring dance shoes and be ready to learn a short combination.

Ragtime The Musical Now Casting – 1468582
12-29-14 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Beginning in 1906, Ragtime follows three families. The first is prominent African American pianist, (Opera Noire’s Kenneth Overton) who expertly plays Scott Joplin’s “new music” called ragtime which is taking the new century by storm and his family, Sarah the woman he loves (Broadway’s Andrea Jones Sojola ) and their son. The second, Tateh (Syracuse favorite, Bob Brown ) and his daughter from Latvia come to Ellis Island with hopes of a new life in a new land. The third, Mother (Syracuse favorite, Cathleen O’Brien Brown), Father, their son, Edgar, Mother’s Younger Brother and Grandfather, an upper middle class wealthy white family who suddenly feel their comfortable world in New Rochelle rocked by the changing world quickly starting to present itself. As these three families are confronted by the tumultuous world of the early 20th century, each life intertwines with prominent figures like Booker T. Washington, Henry Ford, Evelyn Nesbit, Emma Goldman, J.P. Morgan and Harry Houdini, and faces the struggles of the age and the promise of the new century: women who want to leave the home and make their own way, African Americans demanding true equality with all other men and women, immigrants yearning for the same chance at the American dream as anyone born on American soil.
