02-03-12 – Washington, DC>Baltimore, MD – Aeviternity is a relatively new progressive band, centralized at American University, where our two guitarists, singer, and drummer all attend. We play music which at times is crushing and powerful, and yet at others, is laid back and atmospheric, while focusing on both maintaining complex rhythms, and staying catchy. We’re not really a “metal” band, in the sense that we don’t use screams or growls, but still maintain the complexity of some bands that have been considered such. Age doesn’t matter, so long as you’re able to travel independently- we’re planning an east-coast tour during the summer.
Our combined influences include such bands as: TesseracT, Periphery, Animals as Leaders, Deftones, Karnivool, Cloudkicker, Meshuggah, Cynic, The Human Abstract, Scale the Summit, and others of the sort.
We’re open to audition anyone of any playing experience. All band members have at least five years experience on their relative instrument, but if you’re a fantastic player, it really doesn’t matter. You need to have all your own gear, (bass, amp, cables, any pedals/effects that you like). We play seven-string guitars, and thus would need a bassist with at least five strings, to be able to match our low end tuning. We practice at American University, and have space available, but you would need to provide your own transportation to and from.

Please be prepared to:
– Sing 16 bars of a song of your choice. Please do NOT sing a song from Alice in Wonderland.

You must sing with OUR provided accompaniment or with a tape or CD with NO vocals. NO a cappella auditions will be allowed.

– You may be asked to complete a dance/movement audition, taught by the show choreographer (dress appropriately)
