Running a Health and Strength Home in a large and somewhat decaying country mansion can be a hazardous undertaking at any time, as Eddie Manchip knows. When one is further beset by a sinister crook to whom one has signed away the deeds of the house as payment of a gambling debt; a complete desertion of the staff except for one half-witted and generally hysterically excited maid; an erring, pompous brother; his suspicious wife; a tennis-player in the nude; a quick-change artist who appears as someone different every ten minutes or so; the tennis player’s kilted Scottish husband; and a hearty countrywoman grabbing second-hand clothing—then the result can be, in a word – chaos. — Project Type: Live Event

Jakes Women-NorwayME – 1134553
01-08-12 – Augusta, ME>Portland, ME – Jake’s Women

America’s premier comic playwright makes another hilarious foray into the world of modern relationships. Jake, a novelist who is more successful with fiction than with life, faces a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life. The wildly comic and sometimes moving flashbacks played in his mind are interrupted by visitations from actual females. Jake’s women include a revered first wife who was killed years earlier in an accident, his daughter who is recalled as a child but is now a young woman, his boisterous and bossy sister, an opinionated analyst, his current wife who is leaving Jake for another man, and a prospective third wife. Jake, played by Alan Alda on Broadway, and his women definitely deliver.

Bands Needed For Show – Newport VT – 1131073
01-02-12 – Augusta, ME>Portland, ME – I’m interested in putting on punk, power pop, and indie rock shows in my new hometown.

My power pop band has booked a show in Newport on Saturday, January 14 and I need one to two other bands to complete the bill. Original music only, no cover bands.

This is an experiment to see if our little town and the surrounding area can support touring bands doing original music on a semi-regular basis.

I’m renting an American Legion hall. I’m already in the hole on the show so I can’t guarantee that I can pay anyone. If we are able to clear our expenses, I’ll split the door with the other bands.

Drop me a line with a link to some songs if you have any interest in joining us for the show or if you have any interest in trading down the line.

The Pirates of Penzance-ME – 1129662
12-29-11 – Augusta, ME>Portland, ME – Synopsis
In The Pirates of Penzance, Frederic was as a child apprenticed to a band of tenderhearted, orphaned pirates by his nurse who, being hard of hearing, had mistaken her master’s instructions to apprentice the boy to a pilot. Frederic, upon completing his 21st year, rejoices that he has fulfilled his indentures and is now free to return to respectable society. But it turns out that he was born on February 29 in leap year, and he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday. By the end of the operetta, the pirates, a Major General who knows nothing of military strategy, his large family of beautiful but unwed daughters, and the timid constabulary all contribute to a cacophony that can be silenced only by Queen Victoria’s name. — Project Type: Live Event
