Auditions – The Producers – 1443996
08-22-14 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – AUDITIONS – The Producers

Within that 45-minute period, a maximum of 15 students will audition for evaluation in three specific categories: music/singing, dance, and acting. The first portion will be singing.
The first portion will be singing. Our music director, Judy Harriman-Carlson will test ranges and give individual students a chance to sing portions of songs from the show that she will make available to anyone interested by Sept. 8. Students may stop down to the choral music room to sign out copies of audition materials.
The second portion will be dance. Our choreographers, Isaac and Val Campbell, will teach a brief combination that they will use for the show, give you some time to absorb it and practice the steps, then step back and evaluate students based on technique, precision, style and ability to learn steps quickly. No previous dance experience is necessary and some people will inevitably dance more than others. We only ask that everyone focus and try hard.
The third and final leg of the audition will be the acting portion, I in which students will read portions of scripts for various roles. Given the time constraints of the audition, all students will not read for all parts. Students will be evaluated based upon their abilities to create a persona on the spot and deliver lines in a clear, audible, and emotive manner that is suitable for the reading.

The most important factor to creating a high quality show is time. It takes a great deal of time and effort from actors, crew, technicians, and staff, but the rewards for a job well done more than make up for all of those hours. Join us and see for yourself!
