A New Brain Auditions – 1442161
08-14-14 – Albany, NY>Hartford, CT – WHAT TO PREPARE: A New Brain is a show about making the most out of life in the face of tragedy. When a neurotic, frustrated composer is confronted with a terminal illness, he finds comfort in the healing power of art. The show is in fact the William Finn’s autobiographical account of his own battle for life when he was afflicted with a seemingly terminal illness. As the central character, Gordon Michael Schwinn struggles to survive; he finds salvation in the healing power of art.
Auditioner’s are asked to select a song from A New Brain of their choosing that showcases their vocal range. Groups of eight will be brought in to perform their solo, then will stay after to work as an ensemble a selected piece from the show to be determined by the Director and Musical Director.
We are looking for strong singers who can move well, as dance will be an important element in the show. More importantly, singers/actors/dancers who will and can fully commit and give it their complete all at every rehearsal and performance, no “marking through” or “going through the motions.” These are real people, dealing with real situations, with real hopes, dreams, and ambitions.
This show has the capacity to move, stir, and drive the soul and spirit of its audiences to reach for and attain new heights, and it’s essential that everyone in the production is on board for this. We are looking for people who can provide the blood, sweat, and tears that I feel the production demands. — Project Type: Live Event

A Murder Is Announced. – 1441174
08-11-14 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – A murder is announced in the newspaper Gazette in the dizzy town of Chipping Cleghorn. Someone must be putting an invitation for a game in the paper. Naturally, a murderer would not place an ad in the paper announcing their murder, right? However dangerous as it might be, it sparks the interest of the people in town. With a specific date and time announced in the paper, the neighbors arrive at the home of Miss Blacklock (“Little Paddocks”). At 6:30, the lights cut out. After gunshots ring out, the people at Little Paddocks quickly realize that announcement was NOT a game. When the lights come on, Miss Blacklock has an ear grazed by a bullet, and an unknown man lays breathless on the floor with a gun next to him.
A full on investigation takes place. The detectives must consider everybody a possible suspect. Who is the man dead on the floor? Did anyone know him? Was he trying to shoot at anyone in particular? Did he die from a suicide or an accident? Did anyone have anything worth killing for? Is everybody what they seem?

Prepare a 2-3 minute monologue. Please bring a head-shot and resume, if available. — Project Type: Live Event
