After both respond to a “lonely hearts advertisement” in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Discover with Amalia and Georg the identity of their true loves and all the twists and turns along the way! She Loves Me showcases a small but strong ensemble cast playing a range of memorable characters of all ages.

Based on the play Parfumerie by Miklos Laszlo, three movies were also made based on the same play – “The Shop Around The Corner” starring Jimmy Stewart, “In The Good Old Summertime” starring Judy Garland, and “You’ve Got Mail” starring Tom Hanks.

Remember to “sell us” your song!
Be prepared to dance, dress appropriately.
Bring a head shot/resume if you have one.

All roles are available, actors need to display high energy and great stage presence.

You must bring your own sheet music, and an accompanist will be provided. We will have the score to the show for the pianist to use. No singing to tracks or a cappella singing, please.

READ CAREFULLY – All singers should prepare two songs – a standard Broadway song of your choice (NO pop, rock, or contemporary theatre music), and then 16-32 bars of one of the songs from the show listed below in the breakdown. The first 16-32 bars of the show song are fine. If you are auditioning only for ensemble, you should be prepared to sing the beginning of “Twelve Days To Christmas” in addition to a ballad of your choice.

Lyrics for “Twelve Days To Christmas”:

Twelve days to Christmas,
Twelve days to Christmas,
Plenty of time to do your Christmas shopping,
These are the people who shop in time, shop in time, plenty of time,
These are the people with time to spare who shop at their convenience.

Twelve days to Christmas,
Twelve days to Christmas,
Look at the way they do their Christmas shopping,
They can go shopping and still remain calm and sedate,
These are the people we envy and the people that we hate!

Audition for Carousel – 1482993
04-10-15 – Albany, NY>Hartford, CT – In a Maine coastal village toward the end of the 19th century, the swaggering, carefree carnival barker, Billy Bigelow, captivates and marries the naive millworker, Julie Jordan. Billy loses his job just as he learns that Julie is pregnant and, desperately intent upon providing a decent life for his family, he is coerced into being an accomplice to a robbery.

Caught in the act and facing the certainty of prison, he takes his own life and is sent “up there.” Billy is allowed to return to earth for one day fifteen years later, and he encounters the daughter he never knew. She is a lonely, friendless teenager, her father’s reputation as a thief and bully having haunted her throughout her young life. How Billy instills in both the child and her mother a sense of hope and dignity is a dramatic testimony to the power of love. It’s easy to understand why, of all the shows they created, Carousel was Rodgers & Hammerstein’s personal favorite.

Enron Auditions for Actors – 1481186
03-25-15 – Albany, NY>Hartford, CT – Hailed as a thrilling corporate Macbeth, Lucy Prebble’s smash London hit, ENRON, follows the rise and fall of the ill-fated Texas energy giant as told through the lens of some of its most infamous players. Inspired by real-life events and using music, dance and video, ENRON explores one of the most infamous scandals in financial history, reviewing the tumultuous 1990s and casting a new light on the financial turmoil in which the world currently finds itself.

With sharp dialogue, intense courtroom drama, dark humor, vaudevillian theatrics, and a trio of velociraptors, ENRON is more than a case study, it is a cautionary tale of greed, power, corporate sociopathy, human nature, and the dangers of blindly following “the smartest men in the room.”

Actors will be asked to read from the script. Although this is NOT a musical, there is some light singing. Actors interested in singing roles will be asked to sing up to 16 bars a cappella. Actors with skills in puppetry, juggling, and other unusual talents are strongly encouraged. Actors are also asked to come in “business attire” if possible.

A Note On This Script: Although there are a few “Principal” Roles, this script comes alive through its ensemble. Actors will be challenged to portray multiple roles and characters with meaningful scene work and significant stage time. The vibrant and involved ensemble creates the world of chaos in which the story unfolds. They are Stock Analysts, Traders, Reporters, Lawyers, Lehman Brothers, Arthur Andersen, Ramsey & Hewitt, Congresswomen, Senators, Federal Marshalls, and just about everything else under the sun. — Project Type: Live Event
