Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month’s paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been fired from yet another job. Facing eviction with her adult developmentally disabled daughter and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who’s made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America. — Project Type: Live Event

Arsenic And Old Lace Audition – 1467269
12-15-14 – Albany, NY>Hartford, CT – A clever combination of the farcical and the macabre, Arsenic & Old Lace centers on two elderly sisters who are famous in their Brooklyn neighborhood for their numerous acts of charity. Unfortunately, however, their charity includes poisoning lonely old men who come to their home looking for lodging. We meet Mortimer Brewster as he stumbles upon his aunts’ cellar with the remains of socially and religiously “acceptable” roomers, another nephew who believes he is Theodore Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama Canal in the cellar; and a third nephew that appears after having just escaped from a mental institution and has received plastic surgery performed by his accomplice, Dr. Einstein. In his adroit mixture of comedy and mayhem, Kesselring satirizes the charitable impulse as he pokes fun at the conventions of the theater.

Casting requirements call for three female roles ages ranging from 20’s to 70’s & seven male roles ages ranging from 20’s to 70’s.

Auditioners will be asked to read from the script of the role for which they are auditioning (script copy will be provided). — Project Type: Live Event

The Mousetrap Audition – 1467145
12-15-14 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – The news on the radio at Monkswell Manor relates a murder that has recently taken place. Mollie and Giles Ralston, the young, newly-married owners of the once-regal estate which they recently converted into a guest house, hardly notice the news. They are far too busy preparing for the arriving of their first guests—and concerned that the blizzard raging outside may hamper their arrival.
Christopher Wren arrives first. He is an obviously neurotic young man who speaks to the Ralstons with a familiarity that makes them rather uncomfortable.

The next to arrive is Mrs. Boyle, a generally unpleasant person who is dissatisfied with just about everything and everyone.

Daddys Dyin Whos Got The Will – 1466024
12-08-14 – Albany, NY>Hartford, CT – DADDY’S DYIN’ WHO’S GOT THE WILL

Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy’s Dyin’ concerns the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically as well as mentally disabling stroke. In essence, however, it is not the story of the impending demise of the father or of the drafting of his will, but of a rebirth of the spirit of the family unit. Without becoming ponderous, losing a sense of humor or pandering to timeworn cliches about Texans or Texas drawls, the story shares many elements of a good summer novel: it’s a fast, delicious, easy read with funny moments, tense moments, touching moments, and characters you care about.-The Hollywood Reporter — Project Type: Live Event

Calendar Girls Auditions At Shelburne – 1465729
12-04-14 – Albany, NY>Portland, ME – Calendar Girls

While Shelburne Players just completed its two-week run of “Wait Until Dark” this fall, the local community theater company is already preparing for auditions. This spring, Shelburne Players will perform “Calendar Girls” on the Shelburne Town Center stage, with performances planned for April 9-12 and April 16-19.

The cast calls for great character roles and includes nine women, several in their middle years, and four men. A stage manager is also needed.

Calendar Girls Summary
When Annie’s husband John dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow WI (Women’s Institute) members to pose nude with them for an “alternative” calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women’s charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie’s friendship is put to the test under the strain of their new-found fame. Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest selling play in British theatre history.
