Holiday Audition – 1491530
07-05-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Holiday was written in 1928 by Rochester native Philip Barry, author of The Philadelphia Story and many other plays. It has two film versions, the most famous being one that starred Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant. The play is a sparkling romantic comedy. It asks questions about spending — of money and time. What’s the most effective way to use the years of life that are accorded us? Is work always for the young and retirement for the old? Is there more to life than getting and spending? These were questions for the prosperous, heady twenties that still resonate in today’s very different world. The story of the play takes place on and around New Year’s Eve, and so is perfect entertainment for the holiday season. — Project Type: Live Event

A Christmas Story Auditions – 1491288
07-02-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, at Higbee’s Department Store. The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!” All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family’s temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys’ experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie’s father winning a lamp shaped like a woman’s leg in a net stocking; Ralphie’s fantasy scenarios and more. A Christmas Story is destined to become a theatrical holiday perennial. — Project Type: Live Event

A Gilbert Sullivan Christmas Carol – 1491249
07-02-15 – Albany, NY>Buffalo, NY – A Christmas Carol is one of the most resonant stories ever written in the English language, and its by-now-mythic tale of loss and redemption is to some degree affecting in every version ever done, from Mickey Mouse or the Muppets to the original book and, of course, in innumerable stage versions.

This play is no powerful psychodrama, but rather a light-hearted blending of two forms of Victorian storytelling which I love. Not a parody or a tongue-in-cheek knockoff, it’s a festive holiday show with all the drama of the Dickens original and all the buoyant spirit of Gilbert & Sullivan — an excuse for a jolly old Christmas party in the best Victorian fashion.

After all, if there’s one thing that Dickens stood for, and that Gilbert & Sullivan embodied, it’s good, clean fun. Merry Christmas, everybody!” — Project Type: Live Event

The story takes place in the fictional town of Stoker, MA, a Gothic, Salem-like setting teeming with hordes of the undead and demonic forces, the results of an ancient curse placed upon the town when it was settled. When settlers came upon the land and ran off the original inhabitants in order to colonize, the originals placed a curse upon the town that it be forever overrun with evil, in hopes that the town wouldn’t survive. A priest and several others of power put a protection “bubble” over the town to keep evil to a minimum if not out completely. But the bubble has been wearing thin over time and Koko’s “rebirth” causes an anomaly, ripping a hole in it, allowing the dark forces entry. A semi-dark, semi-camp story with lots of blood, foul language, etc. Koko Blayze: Undead Killer is unlike anything you’ve seen before: part live action web series, part comic book.
